Sustainability
At Lisnabrin Engineering, we’re committed to sustainability and community engagement. Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (Goal 11) we strive to conduct our business in a more sustainable way, creating more inclusivity through local partnerships and initiatives, while reducing our CO2 footprint, to inspire change in both our employees and communities.
Sustainability & Social Efforts
Our journey to improve performance around sustainability and community engagement has no final destination. We continually review ways to improve, and include some of the actions we have successfully implemented in the last 2 years, below:
Energy Efficiency
Replaced all production area lighting with energy-efficient LEDs.
Upgraded our main and backup air compressors to more energy-efficient models.
Smart Climate Control
Implemented a heavy recovery system that captures warm air from our compressors.
During summer, warm air is diverted from the building. During winter, it’s redirected inside, reducing the need for separate heating and cooling units.
Community Partnerships
Each year we engage with local secondary schools through career fairs.
Sponsorship of a number of local community events, including an annual golf club charity event, and ‘Cork Fittest’, where we sponsored a team, raising much-needed funds to build an astroturf pitch for a local GAA club.
Supporting Future Engineers
Employed several school leavers as apprentices, fostering new talent in our community.
For 2-years running, we proudly manufactured F1 cars for local schools participating in the ‘F1 in Schools’ competition.
