A New Chapter for Lisnabrin Engineering: Joining the Kaleidex Group

Since founding Lisnabrin Engineering in 2001, our focus has always been clear: solving complex precision engineering challenges for our customers while delivering unmatched quality and responsive service. From our beginnings as a small operation, we have grown steadily through continuous investment in our people, cutting-edge technology, and modern manufacturing capabilities.

Today marks a major step forward in our company’s journey. We are proud to announce that Lisnabrin Engineering has been acquired by Kaleidex Group, a premier Contract Manufacturing Organisation (CMO) backed by private equity firm Ansor LLP.

This partnership represents a strong alignment of shared values, expertise, and long-term ambition for the medical technology sector in Ireland and internationally.

Strong Foundations, Greater Scale

Over the last two decades, Lisnabrin has developed into a trusted specialist provider of precision tooling, prototypes, jigs, and custom components for leading global medical device and pharmaceutical original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Operating from our modern, purpose-built 20,000 sq. ft. facility in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, our team of over 50 highly skilled engineers and technicians delivers end-to-end capabilities, including high-precision CNC machining, Wire EDM, turning, laser welding and marking, electropolishing, and advanced metrology.

Joining the Kaleidex Group provides Lisnabrin with substantial backing to build on these strong foundations. Kaleidex brings together specialist medical device manufacturers and service providers to accelerate the journey from concept to commercialisation. By bringing Lisnabrin into its wider portfolio, Kaleidex establishes a major manufacturing footprint in Ireland, placing us at the heart of one of the world’s most dynamic and vital medtech ecosystems.

Continuity and Commitment to Our Customers

For our valued customers, partners, and suppliers, it is business as usual. Our commitment to excellence, agility, and close collaboration remains completely unchanged.

Steve Martin, Managing Director of Lisnabrin Engineering, commented on the announcement:

“We started Lisnabrin in 2001 with a clear focus on solving complex engineering challenges for our customers. The business has grown substantially since then, but our focus on quality, engineering expertise and responsive customer service has remained constant.

Becoming part of Kaleidex gives us the opportunity to continue that development with the investment and wider manufacturing capability of the group behind us. We will continue to serve our customers from Mitchelstown with the same team and approach, during the next stage of Lisnabrin’s growth.”

Our customers will continue to deal directly with the same trusted engineering, production, and account management teams in Mitchelstown. The day-to-day operations, site leadership, quality management systems, and dedication to first-time-right execution remain identical.

Looking Ahead to Future Investment

Gavin Meadows, CEO of Kaleidex, noted:

“Ireland is strategically very important to us. It is home to one of the world’s strongest concentrations of medical technology businesses, and establishing a meaningful manufacturing presence in Dublin and Cork allows us to be closer, more accessible and more responsive to customers in this market.

Our ambition is to build Kaleidex into a trusted manufacturing partner to leading medtech businesses. We see considerable potential in Lisnabrin and intend to invest further in their teams and manufacturing operations as part of the wider Kaleidex group.”

As part of the Kaleidex Group, Lisnabrin will benefit from sustained future investment in our site capacity, state-of-the-art tooling machinery, advanced software, and specialised staff training. Furthermore, this partnership opens up access to a broader suite of specialist medical manufacturing capabilities across the wider group, allowing us to support our OEM customers through increasingly complex product development lifecycles.

Powered by Precision, Driven by Growth

As we embark on this exciting next phase, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our entire team in Mitchelstown, whose dedication and expertise made this milestone possible, as well as to our OEM clients for their continued trust and partnership.

Together with Kaleidex, we look forward to expanding our capabilities, advancing our sustainability and manufacturing initiatives, and continuing to deliver precision-engineered solutions that truly impact patient care worldwide.
