Maintenance Technician

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Location: This role is based on the company premises in Mitchelstown, Co. Cork.

Duration: Permanent
Full Time / 39-hour week
Part Time / 25-hour week

Remuneration: Dependant on Experience and Hours of work (full time / part time)

The purpose of this role:

We are seeking a proactive, skilled Maintenance Technician to ensure the reliability, performance, and safety of mechanical and electrical machines within a manufacturing environment by performing scheduled preventive maintenance and responding to unplanned maintenance needs.

The key accountabilities of the role:

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
  • Respond to equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Liaise with service engineers (Fanuc / Doosan / Citizen / Mitsubishi) to troubleshoot machine problems and implement necessary measures to rectify.
  • Propose and implement equipment upgrades or modifications for improved efficiency (lean projects).
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities.
  • Provide training to staff on proper equipment use and care.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following:

Qualifications:

  • Education: Engineering degree or trade qualification (Mechanical/Electrician /Technician/Fitter)
  • Experience: Proven experience in mechanical/electrical maintenance in an industrial or manufacturing setting.

Skills:

  • Technical proficiency in mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management (preferred).
